Germany’s factory orders fall below estimates in February

According to media reports, Germany’s factory orders fell below estimates in February. Data released by Germany’s Ministry of Economy showed that the country’s factory orders fell 0.9% on a seasonally and inflation adjusted basis in February following a revised decrease of 2.6% in the previous month. Initial estimates called for an increase of 1.5% in a survey conducted by Bloomberg.

The data showed that Germany’s export orders decreased by 1.6% in February. However, country’s consumer goods orders increased 2.9% while orders for investment goods rose 1.9% compared with the previous month.

On a yearly basis, Germany’s factory orders decreased 1.3% in February.
