Germany’s factory orders rise more than expected in June

According to data released by Germany’s Official Statistical Office Destatis, the country’s factory orders rose more than expected in June to post an increase of 2.0% on a seasonally and working day adjusted basis following a revised decrease of 0.3% in the previous month. Economists’ initial estimates called for an increase of 0.3% on the month.

The data revealed that orders grew 2.2% on the month. Domestic orders fell 2.0% in June while export orders rose by 4.8%. New orders from the euro area rose 2.3% in June while new orders from other countries posted an increase of 6.3%.
