According to data released by Germany’s Economy Ministry, the country’s factory orders grew at a faster pace than expected in October on the back of stronger demand for investment and consumer goods. Factory orders rose 1.8% on the month in October following a revised decline of 7% in September. Economists’ initial expectations had called for a gain of 1.2% in October in a survey conducted by Bloomberg. On a yearly basis, however, Germany’s factory orders fell 1.4%.

The data also revealed that consumer-goods orders from the eurozone rose 9.2 % in October while orders for domestic investment goods climbed 4.2% from a month earlier.
