According to data released by Germany’s Economy Ministry, the growth in the country’s factory output unexpectedly paused in June, posting the first decline this year. The recent data showed that Germany’s industrial output fell 1.1% in June after increasing 1.2% in May. This also fell below the economists’ expectations of 0.2% for the month.

The decrease was attributed to lower manufacturing output and construction which declined by 1.4% and 1%, respectively in June.

However, the Ministry reported that the outlook is still robust as stronger orders, which are pointing to a pickup in manufacturing and business confidence, is at a record high, according to Bloomberg.
