According to media reports, the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) head Christine Lagarde reported that global growth will be weaker than their previous expectations amidst a slower recovery in advanced economies and further deceleration in the emerging markets. In July, the IMF set its global growth estimate at 3.3% for this year compared with 2014’s growth rate of 3.4%.

Lagarde also stated that Asian economies are still expected to lead global growth, however the recent slowdown in the Chinese economy as well as globally volatile financial markets are pushing down the momentum of growth.
