INOVYN, a joint venture between Ineos Group and Solvay SA, announced in a press release on its website that they will permanently close their PVC plant in Schkopau, Germany. The Schkopau plant has been shut since December 31, 2014 due to expiration of a feedstock VCM supply contract with Dow. The company reported that the parties have not been able to reach a new supply agreement.

INOVYN also stated in the press release that they will continue to cover Schkopau customers’ needs by sourcing PVC from their other production sites. The Schkopau PVC plant has a production capacity of 320,000 tons/year.
