In Nigeria, the country’s local supplier, ELEME, issued NGN65,000-70,000/ton ($155-167/ton) decreases for their new PP offers. Meanwhile the producer kept PE offers unchanged when compared to initial June prices.

The latest domestic offers were at NGN1,093,600/ton ($2607/ton) for PPH raffia, NGN1,083,900 - 1,107,800/ton ($2584-2641/ton) for PPH inj., NGN1,139,000-1,167,500/ton ($2715-2783/ton) for PPBC inj., NGN1,090,000/ton ($2652/ton) for HDPE film and HDPE inj., NGN1,095,700/ton ($2612/ton) HDPE b/m, and NGN1,086,000/ton ($2612/ton) for LLDPE C4 film, all on ex-Port Harcourt City, cash not including 7.5% VAT.

In the import market, a major Saudi producer announced their new July offers with decreases ranging between $40-80/ton at $1480-1490/ton for PPH raffia and inj., $1470-1480/ton for PP film and fibre, $1620-1630/ton for PPRC, $1530-1540/ton for PPBC , $1630-1640/ton for HDPE film, $1720-1730/ton for LDPE and $1560-1570/ton for LLDPE all on CFR Lagos.

Buyers complained about the persistently weak demand which has been keeping purchases at bare minimum. “Supplies are sufficient in the market, while end business demand failed to improve yet for another month,” added a market source.
