Import, local PP and PE prices in UAE rebound in Sept after 3 months
According to local sources, trading activity has slightly improved as players returned to their desks after the summer holidays. However, the recent price gains were attributed to the increasing cost and firming sentiment in other markets.
Import offers are currently standing at $1050-1100/ton for LDPE, $970-1000/ton for LLDPE, $940-970/ton for HDPE film, $970-1000/ton for HDPE b/m and inj., $1010-1050/ton for PPBC, $970-990/ton for PPH raffia and inj., $1010-1020/ton for PPH film and fibre., all on CIF Dubai, 90 days basis.
On a related note, September PP offers from the country’s local PP producer, Borouge, surfaced with $50/ton increases from August levels at $1020-1030/ton for PPBC and $960-990/ton for PPH raffia and inj., on a FD Dubai, cash basis.
