India and Iran begin talks on petchem projects

According to media reports, representatives from India’s ONGC Videsh and Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals and officials of Iran’s National Petrochemical Company (NPC) have begun talks on building new petrochemical projects in Iran.

Sources stated that the Indian delegates expressed willingness to invest in the construction of a new petrochemical complex in Assaluyeh and the port of Chabahar.

India is reportedly the second biggest importer of Iranian crude oil following China.
