According to media reports, India’s state-owned Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd (HPCL) and GAIL India will jointly build a new petrochemical complex in Andhra Pradesh. India’s Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers, Ananth Kumar, added that the complex will create additional downstream investment opportunities.

The construction of the complex will reportedly require an investment of more than INR25,000 crore ($3.69 billion). The complex will be located at a different location than Visakhapatnam, where a brownfield expansion of an existing HPCL refinery is currently ongoing.
