According to market sources, India’s Haldia Petrochemicals (HPL) restarted its steam cracker, PP and PE plants on January 30, February 3 and 5, respectively. The company had shut the plants on July 6, 2014 due to a technical glitch at the steam cracker.

The naphtha-fed steam cracker has a production capacity of 700,000 tons/year of ethylene and 350,000 tons/year of propylene. The company also has a 330,000 tons/year HDPE plant, a 370,000 tons/year HDPE/LLDPE swing plant and a 350,000 tons/year PP plant.
