According to market sources, India’s Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals (MRPL), a subsidiary of the Oil and Natural Gas Corp. (ONGC), has begun commercial runs at its new PP plant in Kartanaka. The company inaugurated the new $282 million plant on April 5 as part of its phase III refinery expansion and upgrade project.

The plant has a production capacity of 440,000 tons/year of PP and reportedly will secure feedstock from the company’s petrochemical fluidized catalytic cracking unit (PFCCU).
