India’s OPAL to begin production at new PE plants by H2

According to market sources, India’s ONGC Petro additions Limited (OPAL) is expected to begin commercial operations at its new PE plants at the Dahej Special Economic Zone in Gujarat by the second half of this year. Commercial output was initially expected to start in August or September 2015, but was delayed due to continuing construction of the plant’s utilities.
The company is building two HDPE/LLDPE swing units with a total capacity of 720,000 tons/year and stand-alone HDPE and PP units with production capacities of 340,000 tons/year each.
