India’s OPaL plans to start up new PE plants

According to market sources, India’s ONGC Petro additions Limited (OpaL), a joint venture between India’s Oil and Natural Gas Corp., GAIL and Gujarat State Petroleum Corp., is planning to start up its new PE plants located in Dahej Special Economic Zone, Gujarat in September.

The new plants are slated to produce HDPE grades such as injection, pipe, blow moulding and some LLDPE grades.

Capacities include a 340,000 tons/year HDPE unit and two 360,000 tons/year HDPE/LLDPE swing units at the site.
