According to market sources, India’s Reliance plans to start up its new PX plant with a capacity of 2.2 million tons/year at Jamnagar at the end of October.

It is reported that it will be the largest PX plant due to come online next year. The market is going to have almost 4.04 million tons/year of new PX capacity over the next year.

It is expected that the new capacity will give support to the downstream PTA producers’ margins, who have complained about PTA oversupply during recent years.
