India’s exports posted their eleventh straight decline in October, falling by 17.5% on the year following a decrease of 24.3% in September, according to media reports. India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry reported that the country’s exports fell to $21.35 billion in value in October compared with the same month of 2014. The decrease stemmed from weakening global demand.

India’s imports also plunged 21.2% year over year to $31.12 billion in October. Accordingly, India’s trade deficit declined to $9.77 billion in October compared with $13.58 billion in the same month of last year.
