Indonesia’s Chandra Asri finishes expansion at Cilegon cracker

Market sources report that Indonesia’s Chandra Asri completed expansion works at its steam cracker in Cilegon on December 9. The company had started the expansion at the cracker in late September 2015. Sources reported that the company started on spec production at the cracker on December 19.

Following the expansion project, the cracker’s ethylene capacity increased to 860,000 tons/year from 600,000 tons/year, its propylene capacity rose to 470,000 tons/year from 320,000 tons/year and butadiene capacity increased to 315,000 tons/year from 220,000 tons/year.
