Indorama delays cracker restart

According to media reports, Thailand-based Indorama Ventures has postponed the restart of its Lake Charles steam cracker to the first quarter of 2018.
The cracker, which is located in Lake Charles, Louisiana, the US, was acquired by the company in September, 2015 and a $175 million investment was used to renovate the facility.
The company’s ethylene cracker has a production capacity of 420,000 tons/year ethylene and 20,000 tons/year propylene.
