According to market sources, Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Abbas Akhoundi held a meeting with Germany’s Minister of Transport and Digital Infrastructure Alexander Dobrindt in Tehran and six Memoranda of Understandings (MoUs) were signed in order to improve transport cooperation between the two sides. Dobrindt had travelled to Iran to represent a delegation of major shipping, port and marine companies.

Akhoundi stated that a German company has requested to take part in the work of two terminals in Chabahar Port.

Akhoundi reported, “We are now in talks with Germany’s Siemens for developing suburb transport in Tehran and Tabriz, as well as speeding up Tehran-Tabriz rail lines.” He was also optimistic that the negotiations would result in success.
