According to media reports, Iran started construction of a new petrochemical complex located in Mokran industrial zone on September 10. The new complex is slated to have a production capacity of around 30 million tons/year of petrochemical products, including ethylene, propylene, methanol, etc. The total investment value of the project was reported at around $20 billion.

The natural gas feedstocks for the site will be provided from IGAT-VII gas pipeline, Iran’s seventh gas line from Assaluyeh energy hub to Iranshahr.
