Iran’s oil exports hit new high in June

According to media reports, Iran’s oil exports reached a record high with around 7.1 million barrels of crude oil being exported over the weekend. Managing director of Iran Oil Terminals Company (IOTC) Seyyed Pirouz Mousavi indicated that nine oil tankers docked at Kharg Island Oil Terminal’s eastern and western ports at the same time and the ship-to-ship (STS) method was used to transfer crude oil to a tanker.
The report noted that the docking of nine oil tankers broke Iran’s oil exports and tanker traffic record in 2016 and that some of the oil tankers belonged to China, India, South Korea and a European country.
