Iran’s petrochemical exports reach $870 million in March-June

According to media reports, Iran’s earnings from petrochemical exports reached $870 million in the first four months of the Iranian calendar year beginning on March 21. The country exported 3.1 million tons of petrochemical products in the same period.

Iran has a production capacity of 60 million tons/year of petrochemical products while the country aims to increase its capacity to 180 million tons/year in order to meet increasing global demand following the easing of sanctions on the country’s economy. Iran is currently exporting 17 million tons of petrochemical products per year.
