Iran to build first domestic methanol to propylene plant

According to media reports, Iran’s Petrochemical Research and Technology Company (PTRC) is planning to establish the country’s first domestically developed methanol-to-propylene plant as of 2026.
Accordingly, France’s Air Liquide will reportedly provide assistance in engineering for the construction of the PTRC’s new plant. Upon completion, the new facility will have the ability to produce 500,000 tons/year of propylene, the media reported.
