Iran to start up new compounding plant by March 2017

According to media reports, Iran’s Maroon Petrochemical will launch the first phase of its new compounding plant by March 2017. Through the commissioning of the new plant, the company aims to complete its value chain for downstream polymers and prevent sales of raw petrochemicals. The capacity of the plant was not confirmed by the company, but the cost of construction was reported at $12.4 million.

Maroon Petrochemical can produce 1.1 million tons/year of ethylene, 200,000 tons/year of propylene, 300,000 tons/year of PE grades , 300,000 tons/year of PP besides as well as 400,000 tons/year of MEG at Ahvaz and Bandar Imam Khomeini.
