According to a distributor of Italy’s Versalis, the producer declared a force majeure on LDPE production from its plant in Dunkerque, France on June 26, 2017 due to a technical issue at the unit. It is not yet known when the force majeure will be lifted, the source said.

The plant is able to produce 190,000 tons/year of LDPE.

The source noted that the force majeure will not have a major impact on Italy’s LDPE market which is mostly fed by domestic plants.
