Italy’s car sales expected to climb 7% in 2016

According to a statement by Italy’s carmakers’ association UNRAE, car sales in Italy are expected to rise 7% in 2016 to around 1.68 million units on the back of stabilizing economic growth in the country. UNRAE stated that sales growth in all automotive sectors began to increase in 2015 and is expected to further strengthen in 2016.

Data from UNRAE showed that new car sales in Italy increased 16% to 1.57 million units in 2015 while commercial vehicle sales rose 13% to 134,234 units.

UNRAE expects commercial vehicle sales to expand by 15% to reach around 154,000 units while industrial vehicle sales are expected to climb 10% to 17,000 units and bus sales are estimated to rise 10%.
