Italy’s commercial vehicle sales climb 37.7% in May

According to market sources, data from foreign automakers association (UNRAE) showed that commercial vehicle sales in Italy increased for a 30th consecutive month in May. New commercial vehicle sales rose 37.7% year over year to 15,208 units in May from 11,042 units in same period of 2015.

In the first five months, meanwhile, commercial vehicle sales in Italy rose 31.9% to 69,358 commercial vehicles from 52,602 units in the year before while commercial vehicle sales surged 32% in April, 34% in March and 31% in February.

According to UNRAE President Massimo Nordio, the association calls for a gain 23% with about 165,000 units in the commercial vehicles market this year.

Meanwhile, data released by the Italian Transport Ministry indicated that Italy’s car sales climbed 27.3% to a seven-year high of 187,631 vehicles in May from the same month of the last year.
