Italy’s commercial vehicle sales edge up in October

According to a statement by the carmaker association UNRAE, Italy’s commercial vehicle sales rose for a ninth consecutive month in October. The country’s sales for commercial vehicle increased 22.6% year over year to reach 11,545 units in October from 9,414 units reported in the same period of the previous year. Commercial vehicle sales were up 38.8% to reach 11,205 in September after rising by 14.7% to 4,401 units in August.

Total sales for the first ten months of 2014 are up 20.5% at 97,725 vehicles when compared to the same period of 2013. UNRAE expects the country’s commercial vehicle sales to reach 120,000 units by the end of this year.

In 2013, meanwhile, Italy’s commercial vehicle sales were down 13.3% from 2012 to be reported at a record low of 101,199 units.
