According to media reports, data from Italy’s statistics office, Istat, showed that the country’s industrial production dropped 0.5% on the month in November, falling below economists’ estimates which called for an increase of 0.2% in a survey by Bloomberg. The decline in production was attributed to lower demand from emerging markets. On a yearly basis, however, Italy’s industrial output climbed 0.9% in workday-adjusted terms in November.

Meanwhile, industrial production in the eurozone declined 0.7% from a month earlier in November, missing economists’ forecasts which called for a decrease of 0.3%, according to data from Eurostat.
