Italy’s new car sales jump 27.3% in February

According to data released by Italy’s Transport Ministry, new car sales rose 27.3% on the year to reach 172,241 vehicles in February, rising for a 14th consecutive month. In the first two months of the year, the country’s car sales surged 22.6% to 327,963 vehicles from 267,428 in the same period of 2015.

According to a statement by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, the company’s new car sales rose 32.2% to reach over 50,000 cars in February.

Italy’s carmakers’ association UNRAE previously stated that car sales in Italy are expected to rise 7% in 2016 to around 1.68 million units on the back of stabilizing economic growth in the country.
