According to market sources, Japan Polypropylene Corporation is planning to restart the No 3 line at its Chiba PP plant on December 15 after they shut the line on November 28. The line was reportedly shut due to unsatisfactory demand from the domestic market and declining PP prices in both Japan and China. The plant had been operating about 70% of capacity since July.

The company’s No.1 line at Chiba has a production capacity of around 50,000 tons/year while the No.2 line is able to produce 120,000 tons/year of PP. The No. 3 line, meanwhile, is able to produce 70,000 tons/year of PP.
