Japan’s JX Nippon and Energy will reportedly restart its propylene unit in the middle of October following the restart of the company’s cracker. The olefins conversion unit can produce 140,000 tons/year of propylene and is located in Kawasaki.

The unit was shut along with the company’s cracker at the start of August. The cracker has a capacity of 404,000 tons/year of ethylene and 260,000 tons/year of propylene and is scheduled to restart September 28, according to a market source.
