Japan’s JX Nippon delays restart of steam cracker at Kawasaki

According to market sources, Japan’s JX Nippon Oil and Energy has delayed the planned restart of its naphtha-fed steam cracker located in Kawasaki to October 1, the reason for the delay is not clear.

The company shut the cracker on August 2 for annual maintenance and planned to resume operations on Wednesday.

The steam cracker has a production capacity 404,000 tons/year of ethylene and 260,000 tons/year of propylene.
