According to market sources, Japan’s JX Nippon Oil and Energy restarted its naphtha-fed steam cracker in Kawasaki on Sunday following annual maintenance. Initially, the plant was expected to restart at the end of September, however the company delayed the restart date.

The company had shut its cracker on August 2 due to the annual maintenance.

The cracker has a production capacity of 404,000 tons/year of ethylene and 260,000 tons/year of propylene.
