Japan’s naphtha imports fall 15% on year in March

According to media reports, data from Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry showed that the country’s naphtha imports for ethylene production declined by 15% to reach around 1.1 million tons in March from 1.29 million tons in the same month of 2015. On a monthly basis, Japan’s naphtha imports also fell about 7% compared with February’s 1.178 million tons.

On a value basis, meanwhile, the total import value for naphtha slumped about 41% on the year to around $370.1 million in March from $627.9 million in the same month of the previous year.
