Korean GS Caltex plans to build new steam cracker

According to the country’s local media reports, South Korean GS Caltex is planning to start the construction of a new naphtha-fed steam cracker in its Yeosu complex, South Korea as of early 2019.
In addition to the new 700,000 tons/year cracker, the company is expected to build a 500,000 tons/year PE plant at the complex, the sources reported.
A date about the completion of the construction and the start-up of the plant has not been revealed.
