According to media reports, Kuwait is mulling whether to lift their crude oil exports to Egypt by around 35,000 bbl/day to 100,000 bbl/day. Plus, Kuwait is also reported to be ready to supply refined fuel to Egypt if need be. Nasser al-Mudhaf, managing director for international marketing at state owned Kuwait Petroleum Corp (KPC), said that they are ready to provide Egypt with diesel.

Following former President Mohamed Mursi of the Muslim Brotherhood overthrown by the army last year, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates have together provided Egypt with billions of dollars in grants, loans and petroleum products.

Saudi Arabia sent Egypt $3 billion worth of refined oil products from April up to the first week of November, according to an official from Egypt’s state oil company. Meanwhile, Egypt is planning to buy 65 percent of its oil product imports from the UAE, next year.
