Kuwait working on new petrochemical project

According to media reports, Kuwait is now working on a study which includes construction of a petrochemical project in the Al-Zour region. The study is expected to be completed by the end of this month and will be presented to the Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) once completed.
As per the study, KNPC will decide whether to build the complex for the production of olefins, polypropylene or aromatics according to the results of the study. Along with the planned petrochemical complex, the company is also planning to build 615,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd) refinery and gas facilities.
