According to market sources, December benzene contracts settled in Europe. The new settlement stood at €542/ton ($615/ton with the recent parity) FD NWE, down €151/ton ($171/ton) when compared to November.
December was the fifth consecutive month for which benzene contracts settled down.
Spot benzene prices were last reported at around $600/ton CIF NWE, indicating a decrease of around $115/ton from a month earlier.
