LATEST NEWS: Taiwanese major cuts May PVC prices to Asia

According to traders, a major Taiwanese producer has issued decreases on their May PVC offers to Asian markets.

The producer’s new PVC K67-68 offers for May are $30/ton lower from April at $800/ton CIF India, at $775/ton CIF China, and at $730/ton FOB Taiwan. Meanwhile, no volume discount is being offered by the major.

The latest discounts from the producer came after increases of $20/ton for February, $30/ton for March, and $10/ton for April shipments.

“Freight rates have suddenly shot up by more than 50% and are continuing to rise in Taiwan, China, and India sectors. However, the producer has opted to absorb the increase in freight rates as it is difficult to sell in the current market situation. It might be still hard to sell even at the reduced prices,” opined a market player.
