LATEST NEWS: Türkiye’s November polymer imports down on month and year
In November, the top 5 polymer exporters to Türkiye were Saudi Arabia (109,448 tons), the USA (60,713 tons), Russia (43,684 tons), South Korea (43,393 tons) and Iran (17,487 tons).

HOMO-PP
Homo-PP imports in November receded by 7% on the month but rose by 13% on the year to 149,490 tons. Saudi Arabia remained Türkiye’s top supplier with 61,729 tons, followed by Russia (30,226 tons), South Korea (17,982 tons), Egypt (10,680 tons) and Oman (3,556 tons).
PP COPOLYMER
For PP copolymer, Türkiye’s November imports were down by 15.4% from October to 35,800 tons. The volume increased by 16.6% from November 2022, meanwhile. Saudi Arabia was Türkiye’s top supplier with 8,742 tons, followed by South Korea (5,826 tons) and Belgium (4,566 tons).
LDPE
In November, imports of LDPE posted visible decreases of 26.8% on the month and 31.7% on the year to 23,830 tons. Saudi Arabia was the top exporter to Türkiye with 4,646 tons, followed by Iran (2,666 tons) and Sweden (2,294 tons).
LLDPE
Imports for LLDPE, however, jumped by around 15% on a monthly basis and by 14% on a yearly basis to 67,110 tons in November. The USA remained Türkiye’s top supplier with 26,340 tons. It was followed by Saudi Arabia (18,595 tons) and Russia (5,746 tons).
Meanwhile, Türkiye’s November mLLDPE imports slumped by 49% on the month to stand at 8,540 tons. The figure also indicated a drop of around 18% from November 2022. The USA was the top supplier with 6,164 tons, followed by the Netherlands (717 tons) and Russia (363 tons).
HDPE
Imports for HDPE in November were down by 13.6% on the month and by 28.6% on the year to stand at 71,870 tons. Saudi Arabia was the number one supplier with 14,627 tons for another month, followed by Uzbekistan (12,645 tons) and Iran (8,521 tons).
PVC
Türkiye’s November PVC imports eroded by 15.9% on the month and 18.8% on the year to 64,510 tons. The USA, Norway and France were Türkiye’s top 3 suppliers with 18,893 tons, 6,175 tons and 5,988 tons, respectively.
PS
Türkiye imported 7,770 tons of PS in November, down by 45.3% on a monthly basis. The yearly comparison indicated a decrease of 24%. Belgium became the top supplier with 2,454 tons, followed by Iran (1,762 tons) and Taiwan (952 tons).
ABS
ABS imports in November plunged by 36% on the month and 20.3% on the year to stand at 9,100 tons. South Korea remained the top supplier of Türkiye with 5,092 tons, followed by Taiwan (1,570 tons) and Malaysia (544 tons).
EPS
In November, Türkiye’s EPS imports indicated a 5.5% drop on the month but imports soared by 120% on the year at 3,390 tons. China overtook Russia’s place and became the largest supplier with 956 tons. It was followed by Austria (575 tons) and Iran (548 tons).
PET
Meanwhile, Türkiye’s November imports of PET bottle retreated by around 30% on the month and by 74.6% on the year to 1,370 tons. Malaysia was the top supplier with 799 tons, followed by Bulgaria (152 tons) and China (128 tons).
PET textile imports in November surged by 45.8% on the month to 9,070 tons. The figure slumped by 37.4% year-on-year, however. China remained Türkiye’s top supplier with 5,319 tons, followed by Malaysia (1,190 tons) and Korea (1,015 tons).
