Libya’s two oilfields reopen after two years

According to media reports, Libya’s two oil fields, Sharara and El Feel, reopened after two years. The two oilfields are expected to increase production by 175,000 barrels/day next month and by 270,000 barrels/day over the following three months, which is estimated to add $4.5 billion to the country’s economy in 2017.

The production capacity of Sharara, which is run by NOC, Repsol, Total, OMV and Statoil, is 330,000 barrels/day while the production capacity of El Feel, which is run by the NOC and Italy’s ENI, is 90,000 barrels/day.

Libya’s oil fields are all open after three years, the reports revealed.
