LyondellBasell, Sinopec to build SM, PO plant in China

Major producers LyondellBasell and Sinopec have teamed up to build a styrene monomer (SM) and propylene oxide (PO) plant at Zhenhai in Ningbo, China.
Targeted for startup at the end of this year, the joint-venture plant will have a production capacity of 275,000 tons/year of PO and 600,000 tons/year of SM, LyondellBasell said in a statement.
Products produced by the plant will be jointly marketed by both companies, LyondellBasell added.
