LyondellBasell reports lower income in Q1
First-quarter 2025 adjusted EBITDA was $576 million, down from $686 million in the previous quarter and $958 million in Q1 2024. Net sales and other operating revenues for the quarter totaled $7.677 billion, compared to $7.808 billion in Q4 2024 and $8.308 billion in Q1 2024.
Looking ahead, LyondellBasell expects seasonal demand improvements across most businesses during the second quarter. The company also cited moderating US natural gas and ethane feedstock costs, improving oxyfuels margins ahead of the summer driving season, and a more optimistic outlook for Europe as capacity rationalization efforts continue.
