LyondellBasell to restart Texas cracker

According to market sources, LyondellBasell will restart its cracker at Corpus Christi, Texas in the third quarter of 2016 following the completion of an expansion project at the site. The company shut the cracker in mid-April for a scheduled maintenance.
The cracker is able to produce approximately 770,000 tons/year (1.7 billion lbs/year) of ethylene and the company’s production capacity is expected to increase by around 360,000 tons /year (800 million lbs/year) when the expansion is completed.
