Malaysia’s Petronas shuts its LDPE plant in Kerteh due to fire

According to media reports, Malaysia’s Petronas Chemicals shut its LDPE plant in Kerteh on June 23 due of a fire. The cause of the fire and the extent of damage were not clear as of the time of press while it was reported by the company that the fire did not affect other production lines at the site.

The LDPE plant, a joint venture between Petronas and South Africa’s Sasol Polymers, has a production capacity of 255,000 tons/year.
