According to media reports, Malaysia has been negotiating with Iran on free trade between two countries, which is expected to bring many benefits to both parties. Malaysia aims to sell more products like palm oil and rubber to Iran and helps create a more competitive atmosphere in the Iranian market.

The reports revealed that Malaysia’s exports to Iran were $340 million and they are expected to reach $364 million in the near future. The volume of Tehran-Kuala Lumpur bilateral trade turnover, meanwhile, reached about 700 million dollars in 2015.
