May PP prices steady, PE softens in Kenya

Players in Kenya received new May PP offers with rollovers while PE prices were softer by $20/ton when compared to initial March levels at $1000-1020/ton for PPH raffia and inj., $1040-1060/ton for PPH film and fibre., $1080-1090/ton for PPBC, $1110-1120/ton for PPRC, $960-980/ton for HDPE b/m and inj., $1030-1040/ton for LDPE, $950-970/ton for LLDPE, $930-940/ton for HDPE film, all on a CFR Kenya, 90 days basis.

Players complained about the persistently weak demand amid the ongoing struggles. According to media sources, the country has experienced weeks of heavy rains and severe flooding in various regions, including the capital city of Nairobi and areas in the western and central regions. People have been affected by the flooding, with thousands of homes destroyed, and schools closed due to flooding. Additionally, roads and bridges have been damaged or washed away because of the severe weather.
