According to a press release, the US technology provider McDermott has been awarded a sizeable technology contract by India’s HPCL Rajasthan Refinery (HRRL) for the license and basic engineering design of two new PP plants in Rajasthan, India.

The units will have 490,000 tons/year capacity, each and use McDermott’s Lummus technology.

The new plants are part of the Indian company’s 9 million tons/year integrated refinery and petrochemical complex, which is scheduled for start-up in 2022. Estimated to cost around $6.15 billion, the project will also include two LLDPE/HDPE swing units with 416,000 tons/year capacity, each.
