Trade between China and the United Arab Emirates will almost double to $100 billion in 2015, according to Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. In 2014, the UAE reportedly was China’s second largest trading partner in the Middle East with trade volume worth almost $55 billion.

The UAE’s largest city, Dubai, is a key gateway for Chinese businesses seeking access to Middle Eastern and African markets. In addition, the UAE is one of the founders of China’s proposed Asian Infrastructure Investment Development Bank (AIIB), an international financial institution aiming to provide financing for infrastructure projects in Asia.
